Pixie Glassworks was born soon after twin flames Tom Billings & Irja Kriegel met and melted each others hearts. Their synergy of creative energy fused into a passion for glass flame-working that would take them on a journey of a life-time. Dreams of traveling and creating art for a living has led them on a road to festival tours and markets in their hand-crafted Gypsy Caravan studio. Tom‘s vast experience as a multimedia artist, working mostly with paint, clay & bronze sculpture, film and music, has lent itself well in the creation of finely detailed glass sculpture and unique pendants enjoyed by people all over the world. Both Tom & Irja have a college education in herbology and have studied Aromatherapy. In 2001 Irja invented her famous Pixie Aromatherapy Pendant which has blossomed into a successful line of glass aromatherapy products. The Pixies have recently expanded into a larger glass studio with several torches, and are now training apprentices and distributing Pixie Glassworks products worldwide. Tom & Irja currently live in Edmonton, Canada with their magical son Merlin.
Recently, following their appearance on CBC Dragon's Den, Pixie Glassworks has been able to expand and open a new studio with 7 glass-blowing stations. They have welcomed to the Pixie team some very talented glass artists: Lauretta Peters, Melissa Johaneson-Rice & Breanne Byrne. The stage is set for even more Pixie Glass Magic to appear!
